How Line Intelligence Works

1

Aggregate Data

ESPN scoreboard (ESPN BET, Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, bet365) + Kalshi + Polymarket + Manifold + CoinGecko spot. All free, unauthenticated public APIs.

2

Detect Signals

Windowed line-move and steam detection across books, plus cross-source divergence between sportsbook and prediction-market pricing.

3

Fair-Value Engine

Shin-method de-vig on every book returns vig-free probabilities. The average across books is our consensus fair prob; edge = fair − quoted, in basis points.

What Makes This Different

Honest, source-cited edge detection built entirely on free public APIs — no paid feeds, no API keys to buy.

Cross-Source Divergence

When the same outcome is priced differently on Kalshi, Polymarket, Manifold, or a sportsbook, we flag the gap with basis-point edge so you can see which side looks mispriced.

Shin-Method Fair Value

Every book is de-vigged with Shin's insider-trader model; the consensus across books is our fair probability. Edge per side is exact and honest, not a black-box score.

Steam + Line-Move Detection

Windowed price deltas per book flag meaningful moves; when several books swing the same direction inside a short window, the row is tagged as steam.

Free Public-API Data

ESPN scoreboard, Kalshi, Polymarket, Manifold, and CoinGecko — all unauthenticated, all free. No API keys, no paid subscriptions, nothing to sign up for.

Best-Price Arb Banner

The book grid highlights the best price per side in green and surfaces an arbitrage banner if the implied probabilities sum below 1 across books.

Kelly-Optimized Sizing

Each market detail view includes full- and quarter-Kelly stake suggestions off the computed fair probability and your bankroll input.

What is line movement in sports betting?
Line movement is the change in odds or point spreads from the opening line to the current line. Sharp bettors and syndicates cause rapid line movements (steam moves) that indicate where the smart money is going. Tracking line movements helps identify +EV opportunities before soft books adjust.
What are cross-market anomalies?
Cross-market anomalies occur when the same event is priced differently across platforms like Kalshi, Polymarket, and traditional sportsbooks. These divergences can indicate mispricing, create arbitrage opportunities, or signal insider activity on one platform.
Where does the data come from?
ESPN scoreboard (ESPN BET, Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, bet365, and others), Pinnacle's public v1 odds feed (when credentials are configured), plus Kalshi, Polymarket, Manifold Markets, and CoinGecko for crypto spot. The Pinnacle feed is the sharp anchor used for edge detection when available; the other sources cover the consensus panel.
How is "fair value" calculated?
When a Pinnacle quote is available for a market, we use its single-book de-vig under Shin's (1993) insider-trader model as the sharp anchor. For markets Pinnacle doesn't quote, we fall back to the consensus across the books we do have, averaging de-vigged probabilities. Edge (in basis points) is then fair − quoted per side.
