How the scanner works

1

Pull market metadata

Top-volume active binary markets from Polymarket's free Gamma API — slug, question, end date, volume, current Yes price.

2

Layer in 24h history

For each market we fetch an hour-bucketed 24-hour price history from the Polymarket CLOB. That feeds the sparkline and the signed 24h change.

3

Rank by movement

Default sort surfaces the biggest absolute 24h move first. Switch to top volume, closing soon, or cross-venue edge (Polymarket ↔ Kalshi probability gap) at any time.

Common questions

Still stuck? Get in touch.

Where does this data come from?
Polymarket's public Gamma API for market metadata and the CLOB /prices-history endpoint for the 24-hour trendline. Both are free and unauthenticated. We refresh every 60 seconds and cache responses per serverless instance.
Do I need an account to use the scanner?
No. The scanner is fully browsable without login or payment. Clicking "View on Polymarket" opens the market in a new tab on polymarket.com.
Why only binary Yes/No markets?
Binary markets give a single probability we can plot and sort cleanly. Multi-outcome markets (e.g. election winners with many candidates) need per-outcome rows, which we plan to add in a follow-up release.
How often does the list refresh?
The page re-fetches every 60 seconds while open, and the server cache also holds a 60-second TTL — so two visitors within the window see the same snapshot. The timer in the footer shows how fresh the current data is.
What is the cross-venue edge (XV) badge?
When a Polymarket market matches a Kalshi market closely by question text, we show the probability gap between the two venues. A 3¢+ gap historically signals either a stale quote on one side or different contract wording — clicking through lets you verify before sizing.
Is this trading advice?
No. The scanner is an informational surface over public market data. Nothing here is financial, investment, or betting advice.

Understanding biggest movers on Polymarket

What makes a market a "biggest mover"?

A biggest mover is any active Polymarket market whose implied Yes probability has shifted the most in the last 24 hours — positively or negatively. We measure this as the signed gap between the first and last points of the hourly CLOB price history. A market sitting at 60¢ Yes today that was at 40¢ Yes yesterday posts a +20pp move; the same market drifting from 60¢ back to 55¢ the next day posts a −5pp move. Ranking by absolute change surfaces both directions at the top of the list, because opinion inflection often matters more than direction alone.

Reading the cross-venue (XV) badge

The XV tag means the same real-world event is also priced on Kalshi, and we've matched the two contract wordings with a conservative Jaccard-similarity check. When a match exists we render the percentage-point gap between the Polymarket Yes probability and the Kalshi mid-book midpoint. A 1–2pp gap is normal book noise. A 3pp+ gap is worth a second look — the wider venue is either slower to absorb news, pricing slightly different contract language, or the quieter of the two has a stale quote. Clicking through lets you verify the wording before sizing anything. See also our Kalshi vs Polymarket comparison for the venue-level differences.

Why Polymarket specifically?

Polymarket is the highest-volume open prediction market venue outside the US, with public Gamma + CLOB APIs that do not require authentication for read access. That combination — deep liquidity plus a free data surface — makes it the cleanest single-venue scanner target. We ship the Polymarket view first, then layer Kalshi cross-venue edge on top because Kalshi's contract coverage overlaps meaningfully on macro and politics. For a broader cross-market view across sportsbooks and other prediction markets, see the full +EV Scanner.

How often does the list actually change?

The server rebuilds the ranking every 60 seconds. Between builds, every visitor sees the same snapshot — that's by design, so the "refreshed Xs ago" footer strip matches across browsers. The underlying price history is bucketed at one-hour granularity from the Polymarket CLOB, so intra-hour tick noise won't rearrange the order. In practice the top-5 slots shift every few minutes during active news windows (elections, rate decisions, sports events) and otherwise stay put for hours at a stretch.

How to use the sorting options

  • Biggest mover (24h) — default; the headline SEO angle. Surfaces absolute momentum first, up or down.
  • Cross-venue edge — puts the widest Polymarket↔Kalshi gap at the top. Useful when you want to compare pricing, not momentum.
  • Top volume — the most liquid markets, which usually have the tightest spreads.
  • Closing soon — markets resolving within hours or days. The end-date column in the UI shows the countdown.

Informational tool only. Prices and changes are sourced from public Polymarket and Kalshi APIs in near real time but can lag by up to 60 seconds. Nothing on this page is trading, betting, or investment advice.
